Free Teacher Resources

What better way to convince people to follow my blog than by sharing free teacher resources I have found:

Click the link and then go to TEACHER RESOURCES --> CATALOGUE and go crazy ordering a bunch of free resources (you only have to pay shipping):
http://www.oafe.org/

Go to this link to obtain plenty of free educational resources on nutrition for K-8 (and they have free shipping too!):
http://ontario.teachnutrition.org/teacher-programs/grade-levels/order-resources/order-form.aspx

For this next link, select "Ordering CWF Resources" from the drop down menu next to "Subject relates to" and ask for their free posters and pamphlets (Their teachers resource link doesn't function, so mention you're a teacher in the comment box and that you'd appreciate any free resources they can spare to teach Eco-conscious education!):

Here is the link for the free animal fact cards:

I have received the resources from all of them and they are all fantastic! They all shipped in about 2 weeks, as well. Perfect for your second teaching block!

Enjoy!

My review of the Web Field Trip

WikiSpaces is most definitely a convenient tool for students to use. While my primary field wouldn’t necessarily benefit from such a program, the Junior division would definitely see the value in the site. It organizes group work effectively, especially for students who have difficulty finding time to work with other students due to extra-curricular activities. It also has them involved in a media they are familiar with; the internet. Their knowledge of this world wide web and their appreciation of it cannot be ignored and Wikispaces finds a fun way to get homework completed while working with others.

Podcasts are a great way for students to get more involved in their classroom. The first thing that came to mind when I read podcasts and considered its value in the classroom are monthly newsletters. If children come up with “updates” to give parents on what is going on in the classroom, what has been learnt, what they will be learning and also displaying, on camera, physical works such as art or music, not only do the parents feel as though they are a part of the classroom and a part of student learning, but students feel as though they have a bigger role to play within the classroom and will undoubtedly be excited to “report” on camera for parents!

Another Blog

Ah, so here it begins once again. Ye ol' blog creating, something I am famous for starting and never continuing. I think I have about 10 of these under my belt, now. Perhaps the notice that this one may receive might encourage me to continue.

For it is fame that brings motivation, no?
